I think the yellow/blue color is during mating season. I've had them. Great fish. Hardy. Feeding is a challenge. An established tank with some algae is best. Never found a food that they liked.

There is a seller on eBay that has a nice kit with multiple scissors, forceps and shaping tool in a zippered case. Have had mine for years and all are still like new. Reasonable price.

They clog so easily. I'd expect air stone power to be inadequate quickly. Especially as roots begin to penetrate the UG. Can't beat a canister (or sump) for tuning flow.

How large is the tank?

Ottos & bristle nose are best. Stay away from flying fox, Siamese algae eater. They get big and can be very aggressive.

Red-tail black shark is a surprisingly good plant cleaner, but won't touch...
