Little to no market. Since the manufacturers don't insure their aquariums if they are modified in any way (e.g. de-rimmed), the blame would likely fall on you first if something were to go wrong......

The marginal price difference between the two makes the standard ADA 60p 100% worth it, IMO. There is a huge difference in the quality of materials used.

The second one might be Acorus gramineus, which is a non-aquatic plant.

It's good to see that E. diversifolia is still out there. It's quite a picky plant IME, but it grows quickly when it's happy.

I think this is sometimes the case.
Pretty sure the main difference between the species has something to do with number of leaves per node or how they are arranged, but I don't remember exactly.

First one is probably some sort of Nitella or Chara species. If it has a noticeable odor when out of water, it's probably a Chara. Both are macroalgaes.
