1. Get a prefilter sponge on your filter intake (I like the Hydro-sponge Prefilter Max III)
2. Clean your filter more often!

If it's minor, I've had good luck with raising temp + herbal meds in planted tanks. If it's really bad, a QT with formalin based meds & raising temp would be good.
