I had a 9" terror that suddenly got bladder disease. He ended up living in a 10g bare tank alone for over 2 years before he gave up. He also made use of his fin to fan the flake food around to eat.

What are you using for light? 15w doesn't really help, need more info like PAR....

Honestly if the temps stay consistently daily you're good for any fish.

83 is a bit high. But I've kept tetras and guppies into 86 degree area.

Like I said before. If the tank only moves a few degrees during the day. You're still fine buying just bout any fish.
