Is there any reason why water treated with Seachem safe would test really high in nitrite?

on mine, I used a cheap child's snorkle tube I had laying around that was the right diameter. I got really lucky... modification was very minor, and it's opaque so algae's not a problem.

I might rethink this and go with the 10's across the bottom and the staggered rack for the 55's... even semi staggered so that the stand stays the 20inches wide that the 10gals...
