I'll add my vote for the Red Sea Deco, also. I have it on my 2.5g and have no problems with it. It's nice to be able to adjust the flow so the betta doesn't have to fight the current.

Looking forward to see the results. I've got a 14g planted tank, too. As for the CO2 I doubt there can be too much for a tank with plants only, unless the pH level affects the plant.
