I have 3 pairs of fully grwon Kribs in a densely planted 90g ... absolutely no problems here at all, and have even spawned a number of times right on the leafs of a large sword plant.

I have tanks with Val's in them that have been dosed as high as 6x the recommended level of Seachem Excel ... they initally died back a bit then came back with a vengence and haven't had a problem...

In my opinion it's a P.I.T.A. to rinse ... recently bought a number of bags of it and it took forever to clear up rinsing, then clouded the tank so bad it took 3 days to settle.

Well I'm runing about 3.8wpg, pressurized CO2, and dose EI ferts and 2x Excel and it still grows 6-8" tall.

Never been able to keep it shorter for very long.

I'd be inclined use either 2 or 3 if I wasn't wanting to use the spraybars.

The problem I had with your original set-up was that I found the middle of the tank seemed to have poor water...

IMO I see a flaw in this setup ... your going to end up with water from the outlet being sucked right back into the intake and decreased filter performance over the entire tank ... and dead spots in...

Take the suction hose and with the filter turned...

Take the suction hose and with the filter turned off, fill the entire hose with water until it doesn't keep draining, this will fill the canister and the suction hose, then carefully stick it back in...

π is = 3.14 as a constant value for area of a circle formula

π x r^2 = area of circle

3.14 x 48^2 = 7234.56" square
