I was thinking that also. I've seen a 10 gallon explode at a store I worked at(human cause). I'm not sure how deep standing water is but even at 1/16" depth 10 gallons can cover an area around 12ft...

If the OP's doing a low light tank already why wouldn't commercial LED's be enough? Is it a matter of tank depth or color output? Surely they would be an adequate replacment for normal output t8's....
