I've also had really bad luck with female rams in particular. My male had been in the tank for a year, during that time I've attempted three females with no success. These are petsmart stock.

My experience is definite yes. I put too many O+ tabs in and my N levels skyrocketed for months. Don't over do it!

How's the flow in the tank? I suspect detris is accumulating because your not getting enough flow in the lower half of the tank top kick up the debris into the water column so your filter can suck...

In my experience BBA grows where ever it wants. I see bits of it in high flow and low flow areas as well as High light and low light areas. I do notice it more on the leaves of slower growing plants...

Yes, but if your hanging this off a regulator it's not going to be a strong connection since the 10-32 is so small. I'd suggest just getting a pair of 10-32 hose barbs and running the needle valve...

It was my first time attempting it. I slowly pulled up a section from the substrate then clipped it with a pair of long scissors. It was a messy operation.

The roots are pretty tightly woven.
