Ah nevermind about the copper. Reading the report further it said that the levels were likely the result of copper plumbing in the homes where the test water was taken from.

Still, will that...

Copper and Sodium in Tap Water

I got a report from my local water district and some of the numbers are troubling. They only report the highest level detected, so some of the levels may be lower on average.

The highest level of...

Hey jeffkrol,

According to that picture you posted, a 14w CFL in the vertical position hanging 8" off the tank will produce 68 PAR in the center of the tank. The picture shows this as "low light."...

Thanks for the reply OVT. I'll have to check the lamp's wattage but I think a 24w CFL might be the cheaper/better option. Still, I like the idea of using LED's and getting the shimmer effect from the...

Hey Hoppy or anyone else,

How would the Zoomed Aquasun rate among the T5HO units? I know they don't have the best reflectors, not sure about their ballasts. Any PAR data out there for these units?

Stunting and Very Soft Water

I am noticing a lot of stunting issues in my tank. My local water report says that the average hardness in my area is 14mg/l of CaCO3. 1 dGH is equal to 17.8mg/l of CaCO3, so doing the math this puts...

My tank is a 12 gallon cadlights, with about 10 gallons total water volume. I'm dosing 1/32 tsp KH2PO4 3x week, which is a little over 3 ppm PO4 every dose, so I don't think I'm low on phosphate....
