Personally I would not put Tiger Barbs with Corydoras, nor Corys with the shark. Sharks will harass fish who enter their territory, and corys cannot learn to stay away from them.

Yes! I use a limewood diffuser. It makes masses of very tiny and gentle bubbles so the betta isnt' blown around. Mine adores his and loves to swim through the bubbles and even lie on the diffuser.:)...
