Presence of mold indicates too much water.. let it dry out a little bit, I used a mixture of KH2PO4 and water for the misting, that seems to keep the mold away.

In my tank, BBA seemed to grow almost anywhere, I do not have a large scale outbreak, but i do see it in some places,
It seems to grow in high flow and low flow areas, high light and low light....

Nice setup, I think you have the placement of the wood right.. I would only suggest trying to bring them in closer so that it looks like one complex piece, you can fill in the gaps with some lava...

They definitely arent ghost shrimp from what I can tell.
