I doubt it. You'd have to actually raise the specific gravity over 1.0 for it to be viable, and that's probably going to kill most of your plants. Just see the eggs as a sign that your current snails...

Nerites lay eggs like crazy, but they dont tend to hatch. They need brackish water to hatch, and can then live in salt or freshwater as adults.

Yeah I did this. I let it go for a month (Deep red, couldn't see 1/2 an inch into the tank). Then I did a 100% water change down to the cap. Filled it up, waited a few hours, and did a 100% wc again....
