Very nice job with the tank. I'm surprised you got enough light with four planted+ to penetrate that depth. Are you actually doing 50% water changes a week with the EI dosing, or have you modified...

I do vacuum the hydrocotyle every month or so, not the substrate, since I'm using ADA soil I prefer to leave it alone. It's a cherry shrimp tank so there's not a lot of debris. On average I'll change...

I have a 7g cube, 30x30x30cm, and I use a 27w CFL bulb used in hydroponics. Works really well. No co2, little ferts (flourish & excel), and the fixture hangs about 6-8 inches above the rim of the...

+1 agree ^, two T5HOs over about 21" from the substrate would put you at med intensity if you have really good T5HO fixtures with solid ballasts & reflectors. Otherwise, some brands out there are...

I don’t want to digress too much from the OP’s question, but setting the cost of co2 aside, I too have run single stage regulators to the point where the cylinder is bone dry wihout an EOTD, but I’ve...

A pH controller also serves to protect your fish/shrimp against EOTD. So if you don’t want to spend big bucks on a dual stage reg, and/or you go away a lot, or have a busy lifestyle, a pH controller...

The OP has no co2 and no ferts, are you recommending he run two ray2's ? I think his question was just related to getting a compact glosso carpet going given what he currently has.

Glosso is a light hungry plant, if it doesn't get high light it will still survive but it'll grow tall and bushy under med or low light. A PAR of 50 is low-medium light. This is what it looks like...

Folks on this forum do it all the time. You would run the spare filter with media inside, and the media traps the bubbles, and the impeller chews up the remaining bubbles as they reach the filter...

Personally I find an eheim 2213 or 2215 work well for a 10" long cerges reactor. I've tried the 2217, with an inline atomizer and 10" cerges, and it didn't work so well. It pushed a lot of bubbles...

Thanks for the review. At $233 USD or $285 CAD, it's definitely going to compete with the other dual stage regulators makers out there. I've already got all the single and dual stages I will probably...

A 5lbs on average is 17.5" tall, and a 10lbs is 20" tall without the regulator. I do the same thing, I have several 10lbs tanks in case I run out, and I refill the empties when I get a day off.

Oops my bad, I thought you said the tank was 36” deep, but if it’s 20 something inches to the substrate you have a ton of options. I would add a dual or single T5HO bulb to each side, with roseate...

That's quite not quite true, a heatsink will still work, it will still draw heat away from the unit's critical components by virtue of its design alone. That's why heatsinks have a huge surface area,...
