I agree with slavecorps...I have the fluval sponges on my aquaclears, and they do TOO good a job of filtering. The sponges inside my ACs end up really clean, and the prefilters are loaded with junk....

I agree. If you had a higher hardness the color would be more intense, simply because you had a higher proportion of test liquid to water.
