For what it's worth a kept a cory for about 3-4 years without a heater and my house is 68 in the day and 63 at night. But, I'm not going to advocate that this is necessarily the most healthy route...

It's rated for 50 gallons a day, so yes it would take all day to make 50 gallons. If you attach it to your faucet output you would have to let the faucet run the whole time, but there's ways around...

Thanks for the feedback! But is the D/I at the end really that necessary? Won't an RO system remove the majority of my TDS and drop my KH down to 0, which is all that I need it to do.
