Bubbles per second don’t matter, nor does WP. Just aim for a one unit drop in pH.

No problem. You can't gas off a liquid source of carbon with air bubbles. Glutaraldehyde CH₂(CH₂CHO)₂ is a totally different source of carbon than co2.

I don't see any benefit in leaving the co2 running 24/7. If anything it would be a waste of co2 to have it running during the night since the plants don't use it, and the fish are used to pH changes...

Personally, I prefer the overall look of a rimless low iron glass tank. But either one is really a question of personal taste. If I were to go with a tank with trim, I would just get it in the...

It's hard to measure co2 by bps, so 2-3 bps is a fine to start, but what you want to aim for is a full unit drop in pH, from say 7.2 to 6.2. But you'll want to set a side a cup of tank water for...

The needle wheel pump is a great idea, but only if you add it to a DIY reactor or sealed sump. You need a large chamber of somekind to disolve the remaining co2 mist produced by the needle wheel. Or...

CO2 and O2 are not consumed/produced at a ration of 1:1. If that were true then we wouldn’t need to concern ourselves with gassing our fish because, according to that theory, the plants would simply...

^^^agree with everyone. If you cut a plant or if there's a slight break in the plant tissue, even the root, it will spew a stream of o2 bubbles just like that when the plant is photosynthesizing.

If your plants are pearling it just means they're photosynthesizing, but the o2 they're producing is not going to oxygenate your tank to the o2/co2 "equilibrium" you need. You want to bring the o2...

I wouldn't worry about plants producing o2 through photosynthesis (pearling). Because the amount of o2 they produce is negligible. But if you don't have enough surface movement in your tank, and you...

KH will not inhibit your co2 dissolution. Someone with a pH of 6.6 and a KH of 4 will have the same co2 ppm as someone with a pH of 7 and KH of 10, or a ph of 6 and a KH of 1. The water’s buffering...
