It's actually quite easy to fine tune the amount of co2 you put in an aquarium with a pressurized setup. I would try it out.

I use tap water to blanch too. A drop of Prime if you want to be safe.

I do want to point out that chloramine is used instead of chlorine these days and takes 15x longer to boil and age off.
