Look into a trio of clown killifish. I keep them with my yellow neo shrimp and they don't even eat the very small young shrimp. And as a bonus they are really cool little fish.

Yes. But their body coloring doesn't breed 100% true so you have to cull to keep the blue strong.

Definitely going to paint with drylok or semilar or stain and poly finish. You are correct on the tank sizes. I am thinking of returning the 20 longs for 4 10 gallons but I am not sure yet.
