Dose H2o2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) on the cyanobacteria. That will kill it instantly.. worked like a charm for me. Also, h2o2 is completely harmless to your fish and your plants as well.. good luck

I have seen this in my tank before. Unfortunately, it melts out completely within a couple of days. I am trying to find out what makes it so pink and what makes it melt so quickly as well....
