I think they are considered rare because not many of them make it through shipping.

My LFS has brought in several batches over the years and we just watch em melt every time.

Absolutely. IMO Apisto. cacatouides are some of the easiest breeding apistos around. I have brought them home from the store on Sunday and had eggs by Monday when the lights come on.

You are going to want to switch those Actinic bulbs out though.....they are not helping you. I would switch them out for a couple of 6700K bulbs.

I have never kept zebras in a planted tank before. But....I have kept several others that are in the same family as the zebras...L66 L260 L333 in planted tanks.

They do just fine at normal...
