Quick answer is they last till they are empty. If you have a leak that could be a day or two.
Beyond that there are a lot of variables. Figure on your tank anywhere from 6-12 months.

A in-line manifold will work just fine. You will need two needle valves to use it in-line however.

The Ideal valve is a better valve than the Fabco. But many people find the cost/benefit ratio doesn't justify the Ideal valve.
