You could also save yourself some money and DIY it, as that's all the Hagen is, without the crud catcher most DIY systems add, buy a flipper and you have the same setup.

It's just a crutch generally, if your worried add a drop checker to monitor levels, or increase surface movement if your fishes behaviour changes to lower co2 levels.

You should have an air bubble between. It allows the diffusion of co2 into the checker. The checker fluid is 4dKH water and bromo blue so to get an accurate and consistent reading as tank water...
