This seems like an enherently weak design...Is it replaceable with a 1 piece?

Neither. It's a very small male thread on both ends threaded hollow rod type thing, that connects part 6 and 7 on the above diagram. (though my bubble counter is fatter and shorter).

I snapped mine. It was a greenleaf aquarium co2 system….

The bubble counter began leaking fluid at the base. I went to tighten it thinking it was a standard pipe thread brass fitting….and its NOT....

I use it on the 2217 return line to pipe in the air pump to run it at night to avoid having any tubes...

Well. The brand on it is labeled "labclear". I found the unit on their website, but no price. The smaller step down version is on ebay for $150. I suppose that's like a lot of lab equipment...

there was an older form of fluorescent lighting (t8 i believe it was, but won't bother checking) that the relation of par and wpg for standard tank depths...

Adding more lighting isn't exactly the answer, though sometimes it helps....

What you have for lighting may or may not be high light. It depends on the fixture, the reflector quality, the distance...
