In my 40B, I run 3-13W Daylight CFL using walmart clip on desk lamps, 2 canister filters and a AC50 (because it was just laying around lol).

Dirt should last you a long time and in theory, fish waste, plant decay and uneaten foods "replenishes" the dirt.
