I prefer diy, it keeps me more involved with my tanks. it wouldn't be much of a hobby if everything just ran on it's own and we only had to look at it every six months.

don't fall for it. I've been doing diy C02 fors years now. it's all the same yeast is yeast. I've tried all kinds and it all lasts about two weeks give or take.

I've kept shrimp with honey gouramis and had no problems, sparklers are even smaller and pretty peaceful. I wouldn't think there'd be an issue. I agree they are very beautiful fish.

How big is your tank? You could do a yeast co2 set up until you get your pressurized system. But that will only work if your tank isnt any bigger than 40 gallons unless you want to do two of them....
