Those 23watt CFLs seem to work really well on shallow tanks like 20 longs and 33 longs. I'll see if I can find a pic of my 20 with them.

I checked and the dimensions for the 33 long are 13.5 " high, not 12.9". Doing the math with the Ray II par chart it puts it right about 92par directly under the light.

I think it is 12.9" tall, and with the light 2" off of the rim that is 14.9" minus the substrate depth (about 1-1.5"). Now, if I go with a 40 long it is 16.5" high.

Tank is lookin' good there Don!! Sadly to say my dream tank is on hold until further notice due to the threat of job cutbacks in the DOD (my employer) but my 56 is doing good right now.
