I wish my dwarf sag would take over. I have one crown that I put in a year ago. It might have gone from 2" blades to 3" blades during that time. Meanwhile, my crypts and anubias are showing better...

I actually just stopped by the site and came here to comment on the new design. Looking great overall, and is easier to navigate then the older design. I like how you turned the products into little...

3" of Eco-complete seems fine (or even preferable) to me. I kind of wish I had gone with 3"+ instead of 2" in a couple of my tanks just so I could bury my root tabs better, and my dwarf lily's roots...

Really looks like diatoms. I don't really know of anything that positively eats it; I'm sure there's some species out there that might, but for me it always goes away on its own after another couple...

I actually have started a 'natural pond' tank. The largest thing in there is a single amano shrimp, but it's also got ghost shrimp, several types of snails, including one assassin snail, amphipods,...

Aww, man; so sorry to hear of your troubles. That sort of disaster has to be one of my nightmares about this hobby.

Just about every dry fertilizer I checked when buying mine had exactly that percentage of copper on it. Apparently that's far too little to hurt anything in your tank.

That's a good point. I bet that in a sense, macrobrachium slipped into the ghost shrimp from Petsmart/Petco have probably cost aquarists a ton over the years.

Well, certainly flower/wood/bamboo shrimp would do fine. These guys regularly sit right in front of the powerheads on my tanks. They do need a biologically mature tank, though, so you might want to...

I have also had this experience with (dwarf) shrimps. It's not the ammonia cycle, it's something else about immature tanks that they don't like. I have also seen them become inactive and die in such...

I can't say for sure, but there's no reason I can think of for floating plants to do any gas exchange with the water. I know that floaters generally take off growing because it's easier for them to...
