Haven't got it set up yet. Been having problems with allergies. Idea is to set 3 bottle as you have. The pump will be set up to the 1 furthest from the tank. Will plug into the timer for the lights.

Are the bulbs 65K, daylight? The CFL (spiral bulbs) daylight can be found at a hardware store or walmart cheap.

My alkalinity level is 100ml/L. Range okay from Pet Smart is 80- 300 mg/L. Such a large range makes me question it.

What do you think is a good range for alkalinity?

I would get some plastic xstich material and glue some ferns to it with super gel. You could use pop sickle sticks in the substrate to tie. it down. Thus it wouldn't be against the intake.
