Plants cannot use CO2 in the dark so you are wasting your CO2. Also, by running it in the dark you are increasing the CO2 in your water and could gas your fish. Timer is the way to go. Good luck!

You may want to cut back on feeding your fish so often. Perhaps once a day or every other day. Fish don't need that much food, and extra food or fish waste can alter water characteristics.
