Agreed, it usually take awhile for the parents to get the hang of it. I had two that would lay eggs regularly every few weeks, each time they would get further along until i finally had a small herd...

The plant on the left looks to be an emmersed grown plant. If that is the case, then you will see the old leaves die and new, different looking leaves take their place. How long have you had it?

Those all sound fine. I've also got crypts, pennywort, java fern, anubias, spider plants, fitonia, riccia, moss, bromeliads, and pothos with frogs and they are all happy and healthy.

Most silicone should be cured for at least 48 hours before use. If it still smells strongly of vinigar, it isn't cured. What are you building your reactor out of that you need silicone?
