Those are copepods. I have the same exact one's in my 30 gallon long shrimp tank. I too have 1000's of them, since there are no predators in my tank. There are harmless scavengers. Free fish food....

It doesn't because its used for medical purposes, sterilizing equipment, but 1ml per 10 gallons is a good start. Metricide is a lot stronger than api booster. I use it everyday for algae control.
