You can swap out the LEDs if you know how to reflow solder. Otherwise, you can remove the whole pcb that the LEDs are on and buy LEDs premounted on stars and attach it to the heatsink and wire them...

I've got some in the bathrooms and they are pretty nice. I wouldn't bother trying to use these over a tank though because you'd have to get a dome reflector to try to aim the omnidirectional light...

Don't buy that light or anything power compact. You are better off getting a t5ho fixture. There is a thread about par and different light fixtures you will want to read.
