The lighting your thinking about getting will indeed help, but with the plants you are talking about, they should be fine in a 10 gallon for two weeks. Most of those plants do fine in low/med light...

That is an excellent idea. Actually I have that same set-up for my 35 gal. planted tank. I only use the foam inserts in all my aqua clears - I just feel like thats the most efficient way to use...
