This could very well be C wendtii var brown. It will be very hard to tell without the spathe.
The one in the glass jar looks like C wendtii var. green.

I have also found C pygmaeus are pretty sensitive to excess Excel dosing. I am assuming what you are referring to C pygmaeus as mini Cory.
