why is it that when i have plants covered in algae the shrimp don't really pay any mind to it. but when i drop something into the tank thats covered in algae, they swarm it. What is this?

if you're using ada soil, it'll take about 3...

if you're using ada soil, it'll take about 3 weeks until the tank is fully cycled meaning you shouldn't introduce fish or shrimp. shrimp especially are really sensitive. just wait.

so badis tend to just lurk around the tank and you probably wont see them that often in a 20 gallon long expecially if its heavily planted. but you should get a bunch of nice schooling fish not sure...
