Does it kinda look like an oil slick? If so, surface agitation will get rid of it and keep it away. That's what has worked for me. Just enough to break the surface.

Well, some things you can look into are to use the same material and use them in odd numbers 3/5 etc... And for placement look up online the golden ratio for what your hoping will be the focal point....
