If your going for high light over the entire tank, the ray 2 doesn't give a good enough spread and drops off to much. I originally got one ray 2 and have a glass top so couldn't put it dead center...

Pulled mine out of storage and one of the bulbs did the same thing...try checking the bulbs again and making sure they are turned all the way. If you think they are take them out and try it...

Its deceiving I actually bought it thinking it would fit and double the light like the description says. But its actually for mounting the glo bulbs in a canopy. I can send post a pic if you want...

It fits fine on a 40 breeder, I have them off because I have a glass lid but put them on to show. The light weighs like 2 pounds and if u screw the side screws in it is unlikely to fall off....

I actually did a little experiment/ too lazy to push or attempt to push it into the soil and found it made little difference especially if you are doing DSM. I found either way the roots made it down...
