You can also look up Modified EI dosing method, or low light EI dosing for a more managable regement. Plants won't grow as fast, and you don't have to do Water changes as much.

Alot of times, crypts can just shed a few leaves for no apparent reason, especially older leaves as new ones sprout up. Usually I just those leaves off when I notice them starting to shed.

Alot of times algae can actually be caused by lack of fertilizers. I would get on the Estimated index fert dosing plan, that would be your best bet to balance everything out. I would lower lighting...
