Smile TS's High-Tech, High-Light In-Wall 75 gallon MTS Substrate Tank

Thought I'd start this thread because with this aquarium I pretty much went against all of my instincts and the results have turned out good. Maybe someone else can use this for inspiration for a...

I've been out of the aquarium game for a bit as I've moved a few times in the past couple of years, but got my planted 75 back up and running a few months ago.

Today's pic:

I'm slowly thinning out the stem plants and am almost to the density, though not the shape that I want them. HC is pretty close...

I've neglected this thread for a while, eh?

Since that time the tank went through a period of inattention due to travel and real life things. When I got less busy, I decided to just start over...

It is Amazonia. We're on city water here and it is very very soft (0-1 kh out of the tap) so I did not opt for the Amazonia II.

I have heard that the newer version has less cloudiness issues,...

UV does indeed kill bacterial blooms in my experience. I have had them in some of my utility tanks in the past and the UV does kill them in a day or two.

Both filters are well established and a...

Meh, I've never been able to get glosso to reliably grow horizontally in my high-tech tanks. I just think it gets too crazy in those conditions. Conversely in my tanks which were relatively lower...
