For filtration i was planning on an Eheim 2213. I have the 2215 and 2217 running on other tanks, and IME you cant go wrong with them. HOBs always end up going from trickling to rattly for me.

I dont know much about CPD's but with most tetras and rasboras, its ideal to have a lower ph (6-6.5) and water hardness, and they usually start breeding early in the morning or after a water change....
