I use an Eheim 1250 to pump water out into my yard. The python hose is about 25' to the Eheim, then I have a garden hose on the output of the pump.

It's a great pump, but a little pricey.

It's normal. In nature, the temperature can fluctuate 3-5 degrees, just from daytime heating and nighttime cooling, so your tank is fine.

It's a leech. Most leeches are scavengers, not bloodsucking parasites, so it is probably harmless. They are nocturnal, so check your tank at night to see if you have more of them.
