I have one from a year or two ago. Small, nothing like the nice large black type I got, those are emergent. The Green types seem to do better submersed.

Older leaves can simply be pruned and this can happen with new plants. After a few months, no, but a few weeks, yes, pull them off.

So a tank with say MTS or ADA aqua soil and EI vs a tank with just ADA AS or MTS,...

Go figure.
And after 20 years or so on many different tanks, different tap waters.......different places...

That is Cladophora. Manual removal and get every bit you can, best to remove the wood, bleach, vinegar, Peroxide, Excel soak the wood for 5 minutes, wash well, dechlorinate(if you use that method).
