Just remove the carbon. Like PlantedRich mentioned, it's not needed unless you want to remove meds, odors, colors in the tank. Definitely keep the sponge and cubes...

You're all set. The BB should be pretty concentrated in the tank's filter, so even if you take out the sand and etc that has some beneficial bacteria, I'd say they should be back in no time pretty...

Drip acclimate my fish for a couple hours and then I would then do the floating method for an hour. Afterwards, in they go.
