I'm glad I'm not alone in my frustration, tmann51. I keep trying to remember what I did nearly a year ago to get the plants going. I can't recall much else other than Co2 being very helpful, and I...

10 gal reboot

I used to post on these boards years ago seeking advice about my then-budding planted tank hobby. Things got a little tough financially for a bit so I've been concentrating solely on the fish, only...

New terrariums - would like some input

Hi there,

Spotted some humidity-loving plants on clearance at Lowe's last weekend and decided to try my hand at two terrariums (because it was difficult to find a container large enough to fit...

New bulb, new pics

I like the new bulb so much I decided to take more pics. An Aquaglo T8 15 watter this time. It's new, it's bright, and it highlights all the nasty algae. But perhaps that's a good thing.

Also...

The label says that one capful will take care of 60 gallons. I've only got a 10 gallon. I don't want to overdose and do more damage. This morning, I barely filled the cap to the lowest line and...

New plants giving me a headache

Hi all. I wonder if I can kill two birds with one stone with this post. A month ago, I came across a great deal on the net for 5 stems of hygrophila polysperma, 4 narrow leaf chain swords, 4 pygmy...

Now that the semester's over and every exam has been graded, I've finally allowed myself to pay attention to other aspects of the tank aside from water changes. Here are a few updates:

The stalks...

Here's hoping you're right, b/c the sick oto just gave up the ghost, today. The other looks fine. Let's hope he can live on his own for awhile, at least.

Thanks, all, for the help.

I guess my next question should be: how long can an (healthy) oto survive without a friend? Because I don't think the little guy is going to make it.

I don't need a cleanup crew, as the tank is small enough for manual cleanup, if need be. My minnows occupy all sections of the tank, so I'm covered in that respect. I've kept cories, before, and...
