2in10, thanks for the input. Now I feel like I'm copying you... I swapped the T2i for a T3i. I kind of missed the swivel screen I had on my ancient G3. I think it helped compose some odd ball shots....

I see what you're going for with the drawing, but you don't have the space to get that feel. Once you crop it down to the actual tank size (and water depth) it's going to look more like this....

I never saw the draw of dirt personally.

I understand the inexpensive aspect, as aquarium specific gravel can be costly. But blasting or pool filter sand is very reasonably price and a joy to...

You'll be stuck adjusting them regularly to compensate for evaporation, especially with summer arriving.

Unfortunately we can't definitively say either of those things as tanks are different. (scaping, flow patterns, etc) Just watch the fish. It's easy to see if they're being labored by too much flow or...

I'm not sure what you're wanting to hear exactly. All tanks are different so you can't just say "500gph is great for Geos."

That flow rate is more than enough.

For a tank that size many would go with the 1260. You wouldn't need to restrict the flow, and it'd be around 500gph. Are you planning to run anything in line...
