all of the leaves(14) are on the surface of the water, would it kill the plant to trim most(11) of the leaves down closer to the surface?

ive got a bag of dolomitic calcium carbonate what would dosing this provide in terms of nutrients and how would i dose this and how much for a 38gallon tank?

these filters seem to have a slowish flow rate so id go big. plus i think the 525 gallon one comes with 3 pieces for the spray bar so i dont think youd have to much flow but ive never seen one short...

has any one tried this stuff for MTS? its all my local Home Depot had so i figured id try it out. there are no ingredients beyond what the site says at the top. i hope its not a waste of my time...
