I had a custom size mirror made from a glass shop for a bathroom and it cost me less than $20. Make sure to get the edges beveled or ground down otherwise you'll cut yourself.

I find that if the roots are too long it is best to just cut them.

They do make weekend feeders you drop in the tank that slowly disolve releasing food. That being said for just 4 days you'll be fine. Just change his water and feed him before you leave.
