Low-tech 20 long

I'm looking to potentially convert my 20 gallon long (30") to a low-tech type of tank. Would something like a 30" Finnex FugeRay be a good choice to avoid the algae demons in a low tech setup?

Awesome - I'm intending to replace my older PC light with a Ray II when they come out with the 30" model. Maybe one day ill upgrade my T5HO lighting to LED eventually but I kind of slowly phase out...
