I didn't like my mazzei injection as much as the reactors. The mazzei made the water look foggy due to so much co2 being injected too closely to the tank outlet.

Nice stump. I would slope it into a mound (off center) in order to give it a dynamic look and add a couple of twisty branches posed as roots poking up out of the substrate.

Sounds like a form of white fungus. Is this a new tank with new driftwood?

If it is white fungus various algae eaters- ottos, shrimp and the like have been known to aid in the removal of it.

White fungus is usually taken care of with the rinse cycle of Excel I spray on the wood and the soaking...makes me think I need to up the concentration.

It will go away soon if it hasnt already.

Excellent start! Glad to hear the fungus cleared out. I rinse all the wood with a super concentration of Excel before letting it dry and it usually kills the fungus and spores.

I would say the tank weighs around 300-400 pounds. Having strong friends is a plus...


I do have some algae on the driftwood, but good current and a short photo period 6-7 hours helps to keep it...
